About Me

Visiting a Foreign Country

My sweet cousin absolutely adores traveling. Every year, she and her family go on multiple vacations. Recently, my cousin and her daughter vacationed in the Dominican Republic. Almost immediately after her beach trip, my adventurous relative and her husband traveled to Paris. Would you like to visit a foreign country for the first time this year? Consider hiring an experienced travel agent to help you plan a vacation you’ll be talking about for years to come. On this blog, I hope you will discover the benefits of consulting with a travel agent before traveling abroad for the first time. Enjoy!

Ways To Make A Wine Tour More Special

by Noah Mitchell

Going on a wine tour is such a great way to discover new wines, explore vineyards, and simply enjoy yourself. Almost any wine tour is bound to be a good time, especially if you go with people you care about. But what if you want to make the experience even more special? Here are some ways to do that.

1. Choose a tour that includes an older winery.

In most prominent wine regions, there are a few older, mainstay wineries that have been around for years, plus multiple newer wineries that have opened more recently. When selecting a tour, make sure you choose one that visits at least one of the older, original wineries in the region. At such a winery, you are likely to learn more about the history of the wine region and about that older winery, more specifically. This unique insight will help give you a better appreciation for the wine region and its wine as a whole.

2. Plan a lunch stop.

If you're booking a pre-arranged tour, choose one that includes a stop for lunch. If you're going on more of a DIY, self-guided tour, make sure you include a lunch stop in your plans. Stopping for lunch will give you a chance to rest, recharge, and take a break from drinking. This will help make sure you don't over-indulge, which means you'll be better able to enjoy all of the wines you taste and the wineries you tour.

3. Have a designated driver.

Wine tours are more fun when nobody in your group needs to worry about moderating their drinking so they can drive safely. This does not mean everyone needs to get sloshed; it just means you can drink more freely without such worries. Either book a tour that comes with a driver or find a friend who is willing to come along and not drink. You'll all enjoy being able to say "yes" to that extra glass without safety concerns.

4. Take at least one guided tasting.

If you are given the option of a guided tasting at any of the wineries, take it! Even if you think you know how to taste wine, these guided tastings can be really educational. You'll likely pick up some tips and tricks you have not heard before, which will make your tour more productive.

Your wine tour can be a really special experience, especially if you implement the tips above. Sip, and enjoy!
