Visiting a Foreign Country

My sweet cousin absolutely adores traveling. Every year, she and her family go on multiple vacations. Recently, my cousin and her daughter vacationed in the Dominican Republic. Almost immediately after her beach trip, my adventurous relative and her husband traveled to Paris. Would you like to visit a foreign country for the first time this year? Consider hiring an experienced travel agent to help you plan a vacation you’ll be talking about for years to come. On this blog, I hope you will discover the benefits of consulting with a travel agent before traveling abroad for the first time. Enjoy!

4 Things To Bring With You When You Go On A Fishing Charter

by Noah Mitchell

If you signed up to go on your first fishing charter, you need to make sure that you bring the right gear with you on your trip. Here are four things that you need to bring with you on the boat.

#1 Fishing License

The most important thing to bring with you is your fishing license. If you want to keep the fish that you catch, you need to have your own fishing license; this is not something the charter can provide for you based on how fishing licenses are regulated state-by-state. However, the charter should be able to tell you where you can purchase a fishing license. Many grocery stores sell fishing licenses at their customer service desk and many fishing supply stores also sell fishing licenses. To purchase a license, you generally need photo identification and the appropriate amount of money.

#2 Cash

Second, you are going to want to bring cash on the boat with you in an assortment of small bills. Generally, on the fishing trip, there are things and services that you can purchase. For example, you can purchase a bag to put your fish in or you can pay someone to clean your fish. You may also want to have some cash to tip the people who assist you during your charter trip.

#3 Tackle

Third, you can either bring your own tackle or you can rent tackle from the landing or from the ship. When going on a charter fishing trip, you are going to want to bring either a conventional rod and reel or a spinning rod and real. Make sure that you bring a strong test line and that you have a lot of length on your line. You will be fishing off a tall boat, so you'll use more line than you would fishing on the river. You can always call ahead and see what type of tackle works best and what weight of test line the charter company suggests that you use for the fishing trip.

#4 Layered Clothing

Finally, you want to make sure that you dress correctly. It is generally always going to be cooler out on the water than it is on land. If it is chilly on land, it will be frigid out on sea. If it is just kind of warm on land, it may be chilly out on sea. Use the weather inland and plan for it to be colder out on the water. Dress in layers so that you can fix your clothing as the weather changes. For example, if it's a warmer day, wear shorts, t-shirt and a windbreaker or hoodie. If it is going to be colder, wear long pants, short sleeve shirt, long sleeve shirt, light jacket and a larger warmer jacket. Wear rain or deck boots.

Always check and see if there is anything else that the charter company recommends bringing with you on your trip.
